A NURTURING COMMUNITY

St Paul with St Luke is a small Church of England Primary School grounded in family values. Our learning culture is inspired by a profound sense of love as taught by Jesus Christ. We foster compassion, understanding and kindness.

We are very fortunate in being one of a few remaining one-form entry schools. Our relatively small size allows us to create an environment where each child feels known and included, and where parents are involved daily in the life of the school. We welcome all into our nurturing community.

ROOTED IN THE CHURCH

Jesus said: ‘Love one another as I have loved you’.  John 15:12

In our nurturing community, love forms the foundational ground on which our co-humanity is built. We cultivate a learning culture where a profound sense of love, exemplified in the teaching of Jesus Christ, fosters compassion, understanding, kindness and service in the promotion of the common good.

The Church of England has deep roots in the local community, and provides a wealth of experience to support the education and care that we provide to our pupils, staff, parents and families.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS

We are very proud of our academic results. Our leavers in July 2023 showed above average progress in reading and writing. The numbers of pupils meeting expected standards in reading, writing and maths was above the local authority average, as well as the national average. The number of pupils achieving at a higher standard in reading, writing and maths was also above the local authority and national averages.

FOREST SCHOOL

Forest School is an inspirational learning process that allows children to develop confidence and skills in a natural setting. It supports play, exploration and supported risk taking.

We have created an environment in our outdoor areas in which our children develop a life-long relationship with the natural world. Implemented by trained practitioners, our children get the full Forest School experience within their own school.

SPECIALIST AUTISM CLASS

Flamingo Class is a dedicated program designed to provide tailored support  for pre-verbal pupils with autism spectrum disorders. This specialised class operates within the inclusive environment of the mainstream school, allowing children with ASD to benefit from both individualised instruction and opportunities to interact with their neurotypical peers. Highly trained staff within the class are well-equipped to address the unique needs of these children, focusing on developing social skills, communication abilities, and academic growth.
